This kinda fits the mood

Just come back from an awesome Broken Records show at Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh.
Support acts were Jesus H. Foxx and Withered hand, neither of whom I had seen before. I will post a review tomorrow, but in the meantime, this played over the P.A. as we left, so as I was looking for a reason to post it, here goes!
Tom Waits -’Christmas Card From A Hooker In Minneapolis.’ mp3
(Am hoping that this is one Rod Stewart did not choose to cover)

mmmm, Broken Records would’ve been good — enjoyed them greatly at the Queen’s Hall the other month (damn that was the summer).
I did, however, HAVE to see James Grant at the QH tonight, having missed him more times than I can remember over the past many years. Possibly not your scene, but a writer of great skill and sensitivity, an ace guitarist and a magnificent singer. Fantastic gig, but it was a sit-down job…. don’t like them, too middle aged. You have to be up to really get the music, don’t you?
Did see he was playing…do like the bits of Love and Money I have heard.
