One of my most anticipated albums of 2015 is the latest album from Belle and Sebastian Girls In Peacetime Want To Dance. The album has now arrived, and it is the best album I have heard so far this year, out of about fifteen or sixteen.
You can read my review over at Is This Music?, a Scottish online music magazine I have contributed to for many years.
‘Nobody’s Empire’ may be the best track they have done in a decade…
Totally agree , and nobody’s empire is the best track
Just finished your review. Such good news. I still root for them with every new release, and I’ll have this one in my hands later today.
I fell in love with them when I first heard If You’re Feeling Sinister back in late ’96 (Tigermilk was really hard to come by in the south of England when I lived there, until its re-issue in 1999) and a new B&S release is still a big deal for me. It might be stretching it to say that they were why I moved to Scotland, but they were one of of the factors that I fell in love with the whole place.
