…A MEASURE OF LIFE

Let’s forget it’s a wet sunday afternoon…

…and dance to one of the few indie novelty songs.

I have next to no idea who a Tribe Of Toffs were (were they a tribe? Were they Toffs?(Is that word now really, genuinely offensive? Toff, not Tribe, obviously). I did see John Kettley and other assorted broadcasters on TV last night, on the Weakest Link, so we all started singing this.

A Tribe Of Toffs -’John Kettley (Is A Weatherman).’ mp3

As one hit wonders go, a bit different, and quite fun, really…

A Tribe Of Toffs won me an evening’s free drinks once, as I was the only person in the pub that could name the band when the DJ put on this song.
Even though I still love the song, that alone will always make them a favourite of mine :)

    I’ll bet.

makes you wonder how that got to be a Top 40 hit, yet ‘preposterous tales’ by I, Ludicrous, wasn’t.

    Ah well…

Ah…you always think it’s going to be fair in love and war. It isn’t.

Mind you, twenty years on, are you still mad at them?!

A seminal moment from my youth that I’d completly forgotten about!

I was twelve when this came out, even the kids at my school who weren’t really into music loved this.
